Zareeb foundation is a non-profit organization which is basically a group of students trying to help the underprivileged people of the society.Â

Zareeb foundation is a student’s initiative led by Zahra Majid (graduate of BE mechatronics
Air university Isb) a registered UN volunteer. We help the people with their treatment and
education by raising funds voluntarily, we first take up a case, verify it by visiting personally
to check if they are eligible for zakat and sadqaat and then start the fund raising. Our
organization is different from the others because we don’t have any formal assigned post or
set salaries whatever we do, we do it voluntarily so the whole funds are only used up for
helping the people. So far, we have completed countless cases working individually and in
collaboration with other NGOs as well.Â
Our Backgound :
In 2016 we, the students of Air university formed a society in their institute to help the needy students with their fee but gradually we started taking up other cases of medical treatment as well. We voluntarily continued to raise funds on our own for various cases including fee cases, medical treatment, helping widows with house rent and groceries for almost last three years.

Legal Status :
As Zareeb foundation is yet to be registered considering we were all students and could not manage to fulfil all the requirement of getting it registered, we gathered funds using WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, other social media platforms and sometimes in case of emergency resorted to street collection as a desperate attempt. Now the problem we are facing is that over the years we have been helped by the same donors due to lack of contacts and eventually those donors have stopped heling us. So, we are basically low on funds these days but the cases continue to pile up day by day, out of which two are of critical importance.

To counter this problem, we have devised two methods which are to be implemented in two phases. The first one is to reach out to as many as 3000-5000 students of different universities and colleges and ask them to join us as volunteers. The idea is to get them registered charging a registration fee of Rs. 100, which collectively can make up to 300k500k. this amount will be helpful to start working on the cases in hand. Secondly, we shall be making WhatsApp groups of these volunteers’ institute/ dept-wise selecting one representative for each group/ institute, to keep us all connected. We will then use these groups to share future cases and ask the representatives to collect the donations from their institutes asking the registered volunteers. The second task to be accomplished is to start the process of registering our NGO, because then we can go for foreign funding and take up as many cases as possible. We conducted a general survey asking the students if they’d be willing to be a part of such a campaign and mostly the reply was positive. This process of involving students will not only solve our problem of funds but also inculcate the sense of volunteerism in the students and they shall continue to serve the humanity in future as well.Â
